Metal braces are the most common type of braces, and thanks to advances in dentistry, they are more comfortable and effective than ever before. All braces, whether they are made of traditional metal or ceramic material, use a system of metal brackets bonded to your teeth in conjunction with wires and rubber bands. The brackets and wires are made of high-grade stainless steel in order to provide a treatment that is more effective as well as durable. The bands are often available in a variety of colors to give you a more unique smile during treatment. As the wires are adjusted at each of your visits with Dr. Tiffany Jamison-Rand and associates, your teeth will gradually be moved into their optimal positions.

Ceramic, or clear, braces are also available. These braces function exactly the same as metal braces, but the brackets are made of ceramic or another tooth-colored material to give you a more discreet treatment and a more natural appearance.
