Oral Conscious Sedation
Dr. Richard Papp, Dr. Tiffany Jamison-Rand, and Dr. Ruby Truong provide oral conscious sedation to enhance your comfort. Oral sedation is one of the most common types of sedation available, and is very easy and convenient for you to use. When you receive oral sedation, our dentists will provide you with a prescription medication, usually in the form of a pill. We will instruct you to take this pill before your appointment, so that when you arrive at our office you will be fully relaxed.
With oral sedation, you will remain awake throughout your entire procedure. You may feel sleepy or not remember parts of your appointment due to the deep state of relaxation the medication provides.
If you receive oral conscious sedation, we ask that you not eat or drink for 12 hours before your appointment. We also recommended that you have a family member or friend drive you to and from your appointment. After your treatment, you should not drive, drink alcohol or operate machinery.
